TASTING NOTE
Colour

Intense red cherry colour, very brightly.

AROMA:

With a good nose, very vibrant and aromatic, we can notice hints of red fruit, elegant with blackcurrant and blueberry. There are touches of smoky and liquorice despite his short stay in oak.

TASTE:

Lovely purity on the palate, very well defined and elegant, balanced and light, yet adequate structure and a good core of tannins.

MATCHING
Perfect to take with dishes based on stewed fish, also with white meat.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
The 37 hectares of vineyard Cheval Blanc, extending to the limits of Pomerol. So unusual in the area is the predominant variety with Cabernet Franc 57%, followed by Merlot, 41%, and Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, with a 1% each. The average age of the vineyard more than 40 years, although there are with more than 70 years. The yields never exceeded the 40 hectoliters per hectare.
The winery is a nineteenth century palace, topped by a tower polyhedral and protected by a small forest of firs, pines and cypresses.
A Belleyme’s letter written in 1764, shows that at that time the farm had an important area of vineyards. Until 1832 it belonged to the former stronghold of Figeac, but this year Ducasse buys the vineyard initial of 16 acres from Carles-Félicité Trajet. In 1850, his daughter Henriette Ducasse married with the heir Fourcaud-Laussac and provides the vineyards as a dowry. They, in 1871, increase the vineyard to 37 hectares today. At his death in 1893, remains as the only owner his son Albert Fourcaud-Laussac.
The farm has always been in the hands of that family, until recently, when the 42 heirs decided to sell to owner Bernard Arnault of LVMH group, and Albert Frere, the Belgian industry, by a record in Bordeaux, which put the price of hectare in 3.8 million €.
