WHO CAN CONTRACT
12 Volts is a red wine from V.T. Mallorca produced by the 4 Kilos winery in Felanitx. 4 Kilos, a colloquial way of saying 4 million pesetas, was the initial investment made by Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero to start the winery. A modest investment in the sector that shows that good wine is not made with a lot of money but with passion and ambition for quality.
4 Kilos practices rational agriculture, very respectful of the environment, and with minimal intervention. They use native plant cover, with a large microbiological population with the aim of ensuring good biodiversity in the vineyard.
They have a mild Mediterranean climate, with dry and warm summers and little rainfall.
12 Volts is made with the native Mallorcan varieties Callet and Fogoneu (60%), and with the Syrah (20%), Cabernet (10%) and Merlot (10%) varieties. The grapes come from vineyards that are cultivated following a rational viticulture with minimal intervention.
As for its production, all the grapes were harvested manually. Once in the winery, maceration and fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature that was maintained at 20ºC at the beginning of the process and then allowed to rise to 28ºC at the end. Maceration lasted about 20 days and then malolactic fermentation took place in steel tanks. The last step in the production of 12 Volts was a 9-month ageing in a 3000l foudre and in 225l second- and third-year French oak barrels.
According to its creators, Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero, 12 volts is a red wine that connects with the nervous system and recharges the batteries. If you haven't tried it yet, you're not only missing out on this transformation of energy, 12 volts is also pure vitality! A burst of good Balearic vibes where the Mallorcan varieties Callet and Fogoneu embrace the foreign Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, giving rise to a fluid and fruity wine with a long and pleasant finish.
Gran vi de Mallorca, excelent.
