TASTING NOTE
Colour

Clean and bright It stands out for its characteristic ruby color with slightly orange reflections. Medium layer Very nice to look at.

AROMA:

On the nose, it is shown with an intensity and complexity hoarding. Where the explosion of fruit is more than identified, and in which the aromas of red fruit stand out perfectly accompanied by touches of lavender and licorice.

TASTE:

Entry into the mouth where the fruit is the protagonist, and where it seduces you with its perfect balance every second you have it in your mouth. In a second plane appear earthy aromas while the wine passes with all its lightness on the palate. Its elegance, together with a well-structured body, allows the memories of jam to be imposed on the aromas of cocoa and spices derived from its aging.

MATCHING
Ideal with meat dishes, such as veal with mushrooms, steak with pepper and lamb with fine herbs.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
Pignan can not be considered the second Rayas wine, because although it is also made with Grenache, the plot from which the grapes are produced is further north. It accounts for around 20% of the production of Rayas and in its best years, its classicism takes us to the podium of the best historical wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Depending on the year, up to 20% of the wine may come from the youngest strains of the Rayas vineyard, although its true essence is based on the ocher floors of sands and clays covered with galets, the iconic pebbles of Châteauneuf-du-Pape . Pignan receives its name from the pines that surround the vineyard and is a very coveted wine, as its production rarely exceeds 700 boxes.

The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
