PARKER
PEÑÍN
It is a bright pale yellow wine, with an apparently dense texture.
On the nose, it offers notes of citrus fruits such as grapefruit, and some herbs such as fennel with its characteristic aniseed aroma.
In the mouth it is dense, long and sweet, with an acidity that makes it different from the Verdejos of Rueda, and is due to the acidic and granitic character of its soils. Aged for 8 months in Stockinger foudres, its texture is creamy and silky, with a long finish that will still gain persistence over the years.
The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
