Its color is a straw yellow, tending to golden as it ages, very lively and bright.
On the nose, it offers aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, such as peach, as well as notes of citrus and white flowers. As it ages, the apricot and pear aromas become more evident.
The palate is fresh, acidic and mineral. The varieties with which it is made: clairette, white grenache, bourboulenc and roussane, will leave us with a palate impregnated with yellow-fleshed fruit and citrus aromas. It is a wine that can be consumed during its vintage or can be kept and tasted for 3 to 10 years.
The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
