TASTING NOTE
Colour

Clean, clear and bright. Maroon color with ruby reflections, presenting a medium - high layer intensity. Very nice to see.

AROMA:

First contact in the glass where you are greeted by the sweet and seductive aromas of red fruits, thus expressing the cherries and currants. The minutes in the glass, the floral touches appear where they melt for the imposing truffle aroma. Good evolution and complexity.

TASTE:

Step through the mouth with a fruity palate and very firm. It offers textured tannins that transform with an elegant power and very good balance. With a long, wide and persistent finish.

WHO CAN CONTRACT
The founder of Ata Rangi is an ecologist who is committed to conserving the native flora of New Zealand. This is how he came up with the Crimson Project, which seeks to preserve two native trees that give red flowers: the "mountain-loving rat" and the "pohutukawa", also known as "Christmas tree" by the locals. With its label it pays homage to New Zealand trees and forests. Then Ata Rangi, meaning "heaven at sunrise", is one of the pioneering families in growing wine in the Martinborough area. In 1980 they planted the animated vineyards by a study that points to the wide similarities between the Martinborough microclimate and the prestigious Burgundy. The principles were tough but today, after more than 30 years of work, they have managed to position themselves as one of the most respected Pinot Noir producing wineries in the New World, and their wines are present in 25 countries. They have also become a benchmark in wine tourism in New Zealand. Ata Rangi is in an open valley facing south, where the icy winds of Antarctica enter, forcing the vines to lower production and to bring out few bunches, with many, but tiny grapes. The surface of grapes exposed to the sun and winds is larger. Already in the cellar, this feature translates into a greater contribution of skins to the musts and thus, varieties like the Pinot Noir to better express their qualities. You get concentrated, tasty wines that speak a lot of the area where they come from. One of their concerns is to preserve the soil on which their stocks are based, and that is why they are directing their steps towards organic farming. They use the compost made from the organic remains of the winery as a fertilizer, and have a program to maintain the population of native birds and insects by letting the wild plants grow among the vineyards. Their management has made them one of the few wineries in the world certified to the ISO 14001 standard.
