Colour

Bright, clean lemon yellow.

AROMA:

Intense aroma where fruit notes such as peach and floral (fennel blossom) stand out with a balsamic background. Predominance also of notes of aromatic Mediterranean herbs (rosemary, fennel and thyme).

TASTE:

The palate is voluminous, the result of working with the mothers, and with very good acidity. It stands out for being a round and complex wine partly thanks to the passage through a ceramic amphora. Its salty and iodized notes awaken memories of the Mediterranean Sea located just 4 km away. of this vineyard.

MATCHING
Suitable with vegan cuisine with all kinds of seafood, as well as white fish. It goes well with all kinds of seafood such as oyster and red shrimp. It harmonizes perfectly with Japanese and Oriental cuisine.

TORRE DEL VEGUER
This beautiful castle, in an eclectic style, houses in its interior spaces of great beauty that maintain the charm of the original construction. The Torre del Veguer castle is located in San Pere de Ribes touching the term of Vilanova i la Geltrú. On the slopes of the top of Montgròs and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, which is only 4 km away. Its construction dates from the 14th century, but it was during the 19th that most of the establishment was built. It is a place of great beauty, both for its facade and for its location.

The winery's origins date back to the 15th century when the Jeronimo friars inhabited this space and began to cultivate the vine. It was from 1995 when the winery began a new stage creating its wines from the indigenous varieties of Garraf or Xarel.lo and the Mediterranean with Muscat. Cabernet Sauvignon, Perlot and Petite Syrah also predominated. As of 2008, Muller Thurgau and Pinot Noir vines began to be planted, which are successfully produced, despite being located at 1,200 meters of altitude.

The Torre del Veguer wines come from the Garraf Massif, a different and original terroir than all the others that can be found in Catalonia. It is a large mass of calcareous rock formed in the Tertiary Era, located in the southern part of the Sierra Litoral, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Penedés plain.

ELABORATION:
This wine comes from the "Viña del Pou", 1975, of glass formation, varieties Xarel.lo (90%) and Xarel.lo Vermell (10%). Organic vineyard since May 2013.
Gentle pressing at low pressure, with yields around 50% and taking advantage only of the must flower. Alcoholic fermentation by plots in stainless steel tanks of 5000 Lt, at a controlled temperature of 16ºC for 14 days. Aging on its own lees for 2 months. Aging in ceramic amphorae of 700 Lt.

Between the cities of Barcelona and Tarragona is located the Penedès region, with the largest wine-growing surface and the largest production in Catalonia. Bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, the Pre-litoral Mountains and from the Llobregat River to the Gaià River. The most important cities of this appellation of origin are the Vilafranca del Penedès (capital city) and Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. The more planted variety is Xarel·lo, with a surface of more than 7000 hectares.
