WHO CAN CONTRACT
The Mar de Frades winery is located in Val do Salnés, the historic capital of Albariño, protected by the RÃas Baixas Designation of Origin. It was born in 1987 as the result of the dream of a group of winegrowers in love with their land, and determined to recover the native varieties of the area.
The name of this winery and its wine, Mar de Frades, has its origin in its land, meaning in Galician "Mar de los Frailes". The enclave of this sea can be seen from the winery and its vineyards, and it is where pilgrims from the sea route who made the Camino de Santiago disembarked in the past. Its privileged location, on the hillside, in the center of the Salnés Valley and facing the Arosa estuary, creates a microclimate thanks to the Atlantic breezes.
Albariño is a grape variety originating in Galicia, with great fruity aromatic potential and floral nuances.
