This is a wine of dark cherry red colour, with an intense robe and purplish tones.
It has a highly intense nose, preserving the varietal aromas of ripe fruit, in which smoked and wood aromas stand out due to its oxidative ageing and maturing process.
In the mouth it has a smooth velvety entry with a warm sensation and with tannins integrated in the wine as a whole. In short, it is a well-structured wine that allows good ageing.
The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
