TASTING NOTE
Colour

It has an intense, concentrated and deep ruby colour.

AROMA:

The elegant aroma is complex, with notes of red fruits. Classic herbaceous scent harmoniously integrated, perfumes typically forest groove or more specifically the Mediterranean stain, to the various tertiary aromas typical from his ageing.

TASTE:

The flavour is powerful, concentrated, and has a great depth with sweet and balanced tannins.In the mouth it is rich and dense, yet harmonious and elegant. The wine has a decisively long finish with significant organoleptic depth and a polyphenolic structure which ensures this wine’s extraordinary longevity.

MATCHING
With intense flavours, as the products of hunting, in example, the roasted pigeon, flavoured cheeses decisive.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
In the twenties, a student from Pisa, Mario Incisa della Rocchetta dreamed of creating a wine with race. In Toscana, experiencing some French vines concludes that the Cabernet had "the bouquet I was looking for”. A wine made predominantly from Cabernet represented a major change in the tradition of Toscana and Piedmont of Sangiovese and Nebbiolo. The decision to plant this variety in the San Guido estate was, in part because he had noticed the similarity between this area of Toscana and Graves in Bordeaux. The first trials given by those were not positive because there’re accustomed to the local light wines. From 1948 to 1960, Sassicaia remains on the proprietary and was only drunk at the ranch.

Each year, few boxes were destined for aging in the cellar of Castiglioncello. The Marquess soon have noticed that ageing wine, it improve considerably. As often happens with great wine yeasts, those who were considered bad, eventually became a virtue. The harvest of 1968 was the first to be placed on the market with a host of Premier Cru Bordolese.
The Sassicaia was the first Italian wine to successfully position itself on the market and is almost universally known as the father of a new family of Italian wines: Il supertoscani. The first vineyard of Mario Incisa is considered the birthplace of Italian Cabernet. New plantings and the best wine produced excellent results, the consensus was unanimous.
