INFORMATION OF INTEREST Gratallops 2011
Colour: Colour dark cherry, teardrop slowly and very bright.
Aroma: The nose is very fruity (black fruit from the forest), with notes of mint, vanilla, toast and roasted aromas, milk, mineral and forest fruits. Complex, balanced and strong presence of wood.
Taste: A wine with great harmony as a whole, well balanced, tasty, with a fierce attack but very pleasant in the mouth, it brings us back to retronasal aromas of the nose, and we can notice fine tannin in aftertaste.
The Grenache of this wine appears to us and to makes it perfect to combine with a duck breast with cranberry sauce or a reduction of Porto wine. Also could accompany lamb dishes / roast kid, traditional stews, oxtail, stewed partridge.
Winery located in Gratallops, on the Priorat, partner with local producers and directed by winemaker Alvaro Palacios. Slate floors are laminar structure located in a vertical and oblique. Mild Mediterranean climate is largely influenced by sea, with a predominance of sun and little rain leading to a selective harvest, according to different sectors of the property.
