Chateau Montrose has a dense ruby purple colour.
It has a provocative perfume; we can notice black liquorice and blackberry aromas, flowers, cassis, black raspberries, and blueberries with hints of mineral.
Very chewy, with loads of tannins, yet this follows through with beautifully ripe fruit, mineral and mint. Also, this wine its medium to full.-bodied, elegant yet powerful and fresh.
The Empordà appellation of origin is located in the northeastern part of Catalonia. The territory is distributed between two counties and 55 municipalities. 35 municipalities belong to the Alt Empordà and 20 are in the Baix Empordà. The average annual production is 65,000 hectoliters of wine with a planted vineyard area of approximately 2,000 hectares. At the beginning the appellation was called Empordà-Costa Brava, in 2006 the indication Costa Brava was eliminated.
