TASTING NOTE
Colour

Chateau Montrose has a dense ruby purple colour.

AROMA:

It has a provocative perfume; we can notice black liquorice and blackberry aromas, flowers, cassis, black raspberries, and blueberries with hints of mineral.

TASTE:

Very chewy, with loads of tannins, yet this follows through with beautifully ripe fruit, mineral and mint. Also, this wine it’s medium to full.-bodied, elegant yet powerful and fresh.

MATCHING
Meat dishes are essential to the side of this wine, some of the delicacies with which we could follow would civet of hare or a delicious beef stew.
WHO CAN CONTRACT
In 1778 Etienne-Théodore Dumoulin bought a piece of land overlooking the estuary from Alexandre de Ségur, known then as "La Lande de L'Escargeor". A ground with a lot of shrubs and heather, which its pink colour (characteristic during its flowering) would later name to the château. His son, who has the same name as his father plant the first vineyard and built, in 1825, the château. In 1866 Mathieu Dollfus buy it, and after his death 11 years later, was bought by Jean Holstein, owner of Cos d'Estournel. In 1896 he sold it to his son-in-law, Louis Charmolue, who put on the label the coat of arms of his family, which at present still remains present. Since 1960 mit’s directed by Jean-Louis Charmolüe. Located in the heart of Saint-Estephe, 68 hectares of vineyards surrounds Lironda’s estuary on a gravel hill with gentle slopes with very good sun exposure. La Dame de Montrose is the second wine from this chateau.
