Colour: Intense cherry red. Dense and bright.
Aroma: Complex, expressive, deep. The notes include black fruits, flowers withered, and spices. Elegant mineral background.
Taste: Opulent attack, structured and balanced. Velvety in the mouth with hints of candied fruit and new oak. Very long, exquisite. Definitely a top Saint Emilion.
Perfect with any haute cuisine dishes where beef is the star, game casseroles and "jamón ibérico". Suitable for veal with mushrooms, green pepper steak, pork cheeks baked in the Pedro Ximenez reduction.
Château Angélus, is a Bordeaux wine from the appellation Saint Emilion (bordeaux), since 2012 ranked Premier Grand Cru Classé A in the Classification of Saint Emilion wine. The name refers to the three Angelus bells audible from the vineyards, coming from the chapel at Mazerat, the church in Saint-Martin de Mazeret and Saint Emilion. Angélus is currently managed by Hubert de Boüard, with the consultancy of the oenologist Michel Rolland. The estate consists of 23.4 hectares with a grape variety of 51% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon.
