Wine Malajambota is the work of a group of residents of Port de la Selva, which grouped together, began to work on the project in the year 2002. The land where vines are grown are found in an area in which there had already been a considerable extension of vineyards of a man named Joan bota (hence the name derived from Malajambota), as explained historian Arnald Plujà the day of the presentation of the wine in the Association of merchants of Llançà. It belongs to the D. O. Empordà.
